Since Rush Limbaugh has been in the news again I thought it would be fun to look at his chart and I wrote some notes. What a chart, and not what I expected as his two books are titled The Way Things Ought To Be, (1992) and See, I Told You So (1993). What I found is he is a Capricorn Sun (organize, strategize, deploy resources, ambition) and Pisces Moon (identify the ideal, work with intangible) . It seemed to say there is a sleight of hand going on here, nothing is as it seems. So I dug further.
He has Eastern Hemisphere which draws attention to the developmental issue of identity and defensiveness, keeping the focus on what is ‘out there’ than what is going on
inside as that would be way too scary. That is the reason he gets so far off the grid. He has Venus in Aquarius, ruling the 4th, so he may look to home or mother for help in that area especially since the Node is conjunct the Moon. In fact, he’s probably calling her right now. Venus is quindecile Pluto indicating obsession, bewilderment in terms of relationships and father/career. He has been married 3 times.
He had a meandering road to national anti-liberal spokesman. In the 70’s in Pittsburg, he called himself Jeff Christie and was reported to have had some gay acquaintances. This is clearly an identity issue suggesting early attempts to create a persona, with Sun square Neptune. It also indicates his addiction to oxycotin, as well as his attempts to minimize or deceive others about unaccepted/unassimilated aspects of ones identity. The Sun is 9 degrees behind the Ascendant, an unconscious ego ambition construct behind the scenes (unconscious to himself also probably is how far he has gone to attain it), sextile the Moon, quindecile Uranus and square Neptune. I think this says the guy is making it up as he goes along.
He is kind of spooked by his own audacity on one level but Mars opposing Pluto says BABOOM for communication –Aries on the 3rd, like a big artillery gun! and Mars=Sun/Moon puts it all in overdrive. As Noel Tyl says Pluto knows no bounds, there is no such thing as too much. Big money, big cigars, big mouth, big man. Where is all the anger coming from, is what I want to know. He would be of humanitarian service if he cared to, ruler Uranus is in the 6th, in a Grand Cross with Mercury, Saturn and the Moon, wide orb.
There is an issue with the father, inhibiting self worth, and capabilities of giving and receiving love; feeling much less than; feeling inadequate and unworthy. He just opts for the status quo and you can’t blame him. He isn’t rewarded for being sensitive and empathetic ( Saturn opposing Pisces Moon) but for broadcasting bombastic, shocking exaggerated opinions for entertainment, Uranus trine Jupiter which don’t necessarily have to be factual.
Having great success however, must not have soothed the underlying angst as he needed to deaden the pain with oxycotin, not fessing up to himself but taking the easiest way out of the inner conflict with substances. I do not know if the homosexual tendency rumors are true but it is interesting the dispositor of the Capircorn Sun, Saturn is in the 8th, squares Mercury, ruler of 5th and 8th, Mercury opposing Uranus which disposes over Venus rising who is quindecile Pluto in 7th.
Taking that apart — necessary controls or major life lessons plus lessons of identity development behind the scenes concerning sexuality (the 8th) concerning lovers and money– with drive for innovation, novelty, autonomy with a sense of overblown entitlement –God gave me this talent to use as I see fit.
Rush seems committed to this path and it’s too bad. He’s made his fortune from taking the extreme right ideology and making it lay golden eggs for him but at what cost? Traveling far from the path to becoming a real human being.
